Emily and Scott’s elegant summer wedding on the Ovation Yacht in Saint Clair Shores was full of love, happy tears, and non-stop dancing under the Ambassador Bridge. A Detroit and Saint Clair Shores Start
The day began at separate Airbnbs—Emily got ready in Saint Clair Shores, while Scott and his crew were in Detroit. Both were surrounded by their closest friends and family, and the energy was electric from the start. One of my favorite moments from the morning was Emily’s emotional first look with her bridesmaids on the canal. Let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the room—and that includes me.
Pre-Ceremony Emotions at the Marina
It was a steamy summer day, but the joy and anticipation at the marina made it all worth it. Emily shared sweet moments with her grandparents before the ceremony, and I captured candids of Scott’s arrival with his groomsmen and family. When Emily saw Scott pulling up—cue the tears again. I think it was the moment everything started to feel real.
The couple chose a sleek, timeless black dress code, and their guests absolutely understood the assignment. The Ovation Yacht’s ceremony deck was styled beautifully, and the crowd of loved ones looked stunning in all black.

Afterwards, we wrangled their 22+ person wedding party for photos, and it was a blast. Their friends brought the energy, and the joy was contagious. Emily and Scott also snuck away for romantic portraits by the water—some of my favorites from the entire day.
