Michigan LGBTQ+ Wedding at Waldenwoods | Hartland Wedding Photographer
Some weddings just stay with you, and Joe and Kegan’s beautiful celebration at Waldenwoods this past April is one I’ll never forget. As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing so many kinds of love, and this day felt especially meaningful. Joe is the brother of my dear friend and second shooter, Jamie, who you’ll see at many weddings with me this season. Being trusted to document such an important day for her family was truly an honor.
Joe and Kegan are a couple who radiate joy. Over the past year, I’ve loved getting to know them. They are fun, full of energy, and deeply in love. Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their commitment to each other, but also a beautiful reminder of the importance of being seen and celebrated exactly as you are. Photographing a gay wedding like this, surrounded by so much love and support, was incredibly special.
One of the most touching parts of the day was watching them get ready together and share private vows before the ceremony. It made everything feel even more personal and intentional. The weather had us all on edge, but the skies cleared just in time for a gorgeous lakeside ceremony.
Their portraits were full of laughter, sweet moments, and just the right amount of silliness, which fits them perfectly. And when it came time to celebrate, they threw an incredible party. The energy was amazing and the dance floor was packed all night.
Joe and Kegan, thank you for allowing me to be part of your story. Your love is inspiring, and I’m so grateful to know you both.
