Whispering Pines Golf Course Wedding in Pinckney, Michigan | Bethany & Nate

Bride and groom celebrating during a colorful summer outdoor wedding at Whispering Pines Golf Course in Pinckney, Michigan, surrounded by wooded scenery and vibrant flowers.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with these two over the last year, and one of the things I appreciated most throughout the entire planning process was how thoughtful and organized they were. They truly thought of every detail and always made sure I had everything I needed to help their day run smoothly. As a photographer, that level of preparation is such a gift because it allows me to focus on what I love most, capturing genuine moments and telling the story of the day.

A huge part of that smooth experience was their wedding planner, Michelle. From the weeks leading up to the wedding through the final moments of the reception, she was incredible to work with. Having a planner who communicates well and keeps everything organized makes such a difference, and Michelle helped create a stress-free environment that allowed everyone to simply enjoy the celebration.

And what a day it was.

The weather could not have been more perfect. Warm sunshine, blue skies, and just enough breeze to keep everyone comfortable. Whispering Pines Golf Course in Pinckney is one of those venues that surprises you the moment you arrive. Even though it’s conveniently located near so many major cities and attractions for guests, it feels completely secluded. Surrounded by woods and nature, it has this peaceful up north feeling that’s hard to find in Southeast Michigan.

One of my favorite things about the property is how the trees seem to wrap around the venue. At times it almost feels like you’re celebrating in a giant treehouse tucked away in the forest. Everywhere you look there is greenery, and the natural setting creates such a relaxed atmosphere for a wedding day.

Before the ceremony, the couple chose to do a first look and exchange private vows. These moments are always some of my favorites because they allow couples to slow down and focus on each other before the excitement of the day takes over. Their first look was emotional, heartfelt, and full of genuine reactions. Sharing their personal vows privately gave them a chance to soak in the moment together without distractions, and it set such a meaningful tone for the rest of the day.

Another thing that stood out was how much they valued family. Family photos were not just another item to check off the timeline. They were important to them. I loved spending time with their families and creating portraits that they’ll be able to look back on for years to come. There is something special about having everyone together, dressed up, smiling, and celebrating such an important milestone.

As the day continued, guests gathered inside for a reception that was every bit as fun as the rest of the celebration. One of the most memorable moments was their first dance. Rather than taking place on a traditional dance floor, they danced in the venue’s stunning lobby. With its dramatic two-story ceiling and open space, it created such an elegant and unique backdrop. It felt intimate while still allowing all of their family and friends to witness the moment.

And after that? Well, it’s really a shame nobody had any fun on the dance floor.

Juuuuuust kidding.

The dance floor was packed. Guests danced, laughed, and celebrated all night long. The energy in the room was contagious, and it was obvious that everyone was genuinely excited to be there.

As the evening wound down, we snuck away for sunset portraits. One of the many perks of a summer wedding is those long evenings that give couples a chance to step away from the party for a few minutes. Sunset portraits are never just about the photos. They are an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and take in everything that happened throughout the day. After months of planning, all the anticipation, and a whirlwind of emotions, these quiet moments often become some of the most meaningful.

Watching these two soak in the sunset together was the perfect way to end an incredible day.

From the thoughtful planning and emotional vows to the packed dance floor and peaceful sunset portraits, this wedding was filled with so many moments worth remembering. I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of it and to have spent the last year getting to know such a sweet couple.

Congratulations to you Bethany & Nate . Thank you for trusting me to tell your story.
